Rarely do I save late hour clubs. This is an exception. Smack bang in the middle of the classy area of Sydney is my kind of shabby chic watering hole. It's great to see a well managed club. They're very particular about the dress and not too overboard. No shorts yet give you the option of putting on a coloured shirt (borrowing a mates) to be allowed to enter. I like that. Very respectful staff. I will return... Only if you include 'Don't pay the ferry man' on your karaoke list.
A great place with lots of friendly people having a good time. It opens late, closes late and serves the classic drinks from the 60's, 70's, 80's and 90's. The songs are all classics so it's easy to sing along. Spoke with the owner and it definitely isn't closing. This is how bars used to be. It's all about the people, drinks and singing. No fancy hipster decore or fine dinning. Relaxed dress code. Fast drinks service. Easy & free parking right out the front and easy bus or taxi pickup. Great restaurants all around for a late dinner before some after dinner drinks at the pickled possum. No gaming or kids makes it a bonus too.
This place is so much fun! Came here for a friend's birthday having never tried karaoke before (I fully expected to hate it) but the bar is super cosy and so friendly. Everyone (whether they're good or bad at singing) gets up on stage and gives it a go and the 'crowd' really encourages you. It's not a fancy bar but it's such a good laugh, plus there's a Maccas a short walk up the road for when you finish ;)
If you like to belt out tunes even when you sound terrible, and don't mind everyone else singing along , not just to make you feel better, this is the perfect place for you ! The PP is for diehard fun lovers - it will not be for you if you need modern décor or fancy drinks - in fact, the fact you can love a place despite this, says everything about you, and why you would fit in at the PP.
