I took the Sphinx trail (5.5km) down to Bobbin Head and the Bobbin Head trail (4.5km) back. Beautiful walks, great scenery. It took me about 3 hours at a comfortable pace. The Sphinx memorial was a good rest and picnic spot, but was not the highlight of the visit.
It's the gateway to some spectacular bush walks. The memorial itself doesn't have anything else to offer.
Very nice and quiet spot. A nice walk from and to Sphinx Memorial through Bobbin head.
Pretty, beautiful area - the only noise is birds and the occasional noisy plane overhead. Touching memorial and well maintained. Definitely recommend it for a pit-stop if passing. There are also walks available through the bush which we didn't get time for.
Good memorial dedicated to WW1 has the mast post of HMAS Adelaide
Worth a visit if you are in Kouringai NP. Sphinx 1/8th scale carved in 1920s by 1st WW veteran.
