Came here for my wife's birthday, prices here are in line with fine dining and the food is great to taste and pleasant to the eye. The cocktails here are unique and the alcoholic drinks menu is very extensive from imported beers and sake to local made cocktails.
Service was hit and miss with particular wait staff.
Expect to pay over 100pp for set course meal with fancy drinks, cheaper options nearby but worth the culinary experience.
We had a totally enjoyable and delicious meal at Sake in the Rocks.
We are fans of Sake in Melbourne, and this restaurant definitely lived up to our expectations.
The staff were friendly and the meals delicious and inspiring. The decor in the venue was everything a Sake restaurant should be ... elegant, dark and comfortable.
I always enjoy it dinner at this place. That is excellent service with the wait staff very polite and attentive - there's never any redirect to speak to someone else, they just get it done. This time we just went for some a la carte options because last time I think I over ordered. It's easy to get carried away wanting to try things.
We got the seven courses set menu with matching wine / sake. All the dishes tasted amazing even though the portions were very small (2/3 bites). The service was ok but a bit too fast so that we have to tell them too slow down otherwise we wouldn’t be able to enjoy the dish before the next one. The restaurant is nice but very busy and loud. I expected a more quite and intimate atmosphere. Overall satisfied but keep it mind it’s very expensive.
The fixed chef's menu was quite good. The salmon hot pot and sashimi dishes were excellent; the only disappointment was the popcorn shrimp, which felt like filler. Busy, but it was fun to have a spot next to the kitchen. I thought the sake flight was just so-so.
Amazing food great service very expensive
